Info: In 2000, Project Playground Clothing Co. was founded by Justin Leonard as an independent brand that embodies New york City’s ties between sports, music, and fashion. Many of PPC’s designs are inspired by the proud NYC basketball community of which it is an integral member. In 2002, Project Playground Basketball (PPB) also became a traveling performance group, co-founded by schoolyard legend Jack Ryan, choreographer Ramon Rodriguez, and DJ/Author Bobbito Garcia. The crew has since added experienced tricksters Kenny Rodriguez and Puerto Rico’s street all-star Jonsy Gonzales. In honour of the Superstar 35th Anniversary Adidas and sneaker connoisseur Bobbito Garcia are proud to present a commemorative Superstar inspired by Project Playground’s progressive approach to the greatest street sport ever invented.

Info: Andy Warhol was one of the most enigmatic and invigorating figures the art world has ever known. Throughout his “Pop” and “Post Pop” periods, Andy Warhol created an artistic revolution by consistently blurring the distinction between high and low art. Appropriating images from popular culture, Warhol created many paintings that remain icons of 20th-century art, such as the “Campbell’s Soup Cans”, Disasters” and “Marilyn” in the ’60s. During the ’70s Warhol focused his energy on living superstars. This Superstar style celebrates his “Athlete Series” from the same period, featuring the basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
